Our CBD Oil for Dogs and Pets can be administered from the dosage-marked dropper directly into your pets mouth.
As with starting any edible CBD product, identifying the optimum amount to take for your pet’s size, ailment and digestive system will likely take a few tries. Every pet can respond differently, so start with a small dosage amount.
Our general guideline:
We have found that about 2 mg of CBD per 10 pounds of body weight is typically effective for most dogs and cats.
Note that every ¼ mL of our CBD Oil for Dogs and Pets contains 2.5 mg of CBD.
Monitor your pet’s results for improvement. If needed, after 30-45 minutes increase the next dose by ¼ mL.
Depending on your pet’s condition, you and your pet can see improvement in minutes, or up to a few weeks with consistent use. For optimum improvement, use regularly.
To determine your pet’s ideal dose of CBD oil, consider first their body size and then the severity of the condition that you are looking to relieve.

Our oil tinctures have received positive feedback from customers regarding their pets’ well-being, including reports of improvements in anxiety, pain, and irritability. Like humans, dogs, cats, and horses have an endocannabinoid system that may allow them to benefit from CBD oil. Preliminary studies suggest potential effects of CBD for animals, such as pain management, seizure control, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Use their behaviors to indicate how effectively a dose is working. About 30 minutes after giving your dog, cat, or other pet a dose of Sunriver Botanicals CBD for Dogs or Pets, watch your pet closely to see if they appear less irritable, anxious, or uncomfortable. Keep track of the symptoms you aim to address, such as limping, challenges with stair climbing, or stress-related destructive behaviors. If you do not notice improvement yet, try incrementally increasing the dose during your next administration until you determine that their symptoms have improved.
CBD has no known toxicity level and, when used as directed, is unlikely to cause adverse effects. Similar to when humans take more CBD than recommended, the most likely side effect is drowsiness. Most adverse effects reported from over-ingestion of CBD products by animals is when pets ingest products not intended for animals. In these instances, the added flavors such as chocolate, sugar, and artificial sweeteners are the culprit, not the CBD.
Absolutely! For large animals like horses, you may not need as much CBD as you may think due to their slow metabolism. In fact, horses can benefit from as little as 25mg (2.5 mL) taken orally.
